The number of female football coaches in the UK is on the rise. The FA have reported that every month around 200 female coaches begin working towards their Level One qualification and they anticipate qualifying their 20,000th female coach in the next few weeks.
Some County FAs are now holding female only coaching courses which are thought to have increased female participation in the coaching of the sport.
“It is fantastic to see so many females getting themselves on the coaching ladder,” said Rachel Pavlou, The FA’s National Women's Football Development Manager.
“Whether it be to help out at their own club, to help coach their child’s team or to simply satisfy their love for the game, we are qualifying an increasing number of female coaches around the country and long may this continue”
189,000 coaches now hold the Level One Certificate in Football Coaching and of these 19,805 are female.
