RelayStation Supports Qatar's World Cup 2022 Bid

Video, voice and text message broadcaster RelayStation today announces its support for Qatar to host FIFA's World Cup 2022 finals. The announcement follows an impressive showing by members of the bid committee of the country's sporting credentials and facilities at this month's Leaders in Football (LiF) 09 event.

One thousand delegates representing the world of football attended LiF at Chelsea FC and had the opportunity to gauge the quality of Qatar's bid and footballing credentials as host of the 2006 Asian Games as well as the upcoming 2011 AFC Asian Cup.

"In these challenging economic times, countries with the resource to host such a global tournament as the World Cup have a clear advantage and Qatar has the fastest-growing economy and highest per capita GDP," says Sharon Maslyn, RelayStation's managing director.

“The success of Qatar to deliver results in the youth teams reflects a sustained investment in youth development in Qatar and underlines Qatar's commitment to football in the community," adds Maslyn. "The importance of this should also be recognised by FIFA when awarding the host nation for the 2022 WorldCup."

RelayStation's message broadcasting services are now fundamental marketing tools for sports clubs. In Britain alone, over 50 Premier, Championship and Coca Cola League clubs use its products week in, week out to build more personal relationships with their fans and to drive ticket and merchandising sales.

User clubs have established that voice and text messaging broadcasts are six times more effective than direct mail, four times less costly, and are at least fifteen times faster to implement. They've also found that telemarketing campaigns are twelve times more expensive than RelayStation's instant interactive dialogue products and are seven times slower to implement.

At LiF, RelayStation unveiled a new product called RelayVideo enabling managers or key players to record a  short video of up to thirty seconds on a Camcorder, send the file to RelayStation together with a spreadsheet of opt-in fans' mobile phone numbers and instructions when to broadcast.
