Holland Pies launches amateur football campaign

Holland’s Pies, who until this year were sponsors of Burnley FC, are this season turning their attention to the other end of the football spectrum with a campaign to encourage amateur football across the region. The Baxenden-based producer of pies and puds is offering teams across Lancashire the chance to win a variety of football prizes.

Burnley boss Owen Coyle helped to launch the campaign this week at Turf Moor and was joined by Michael Coldwell from the Holland’s five-a-side team to represent the region’s amateur footballers.

The winning teams will be supplied with full branded kits and training gear and will also benefit from nutritional advice and a custom health and fitness programme from Premier League experts at BurnleyHolland’s will also provide the pies for their end-of-season parties.

Neil Court-Johnston, MD of Holland’s, explains: “This initiative is a great chance for football clubs from across the region to gain the experience and knowledge from premier experts on nutrition and health, plus get new kits for their team.

“We are extremely proud to have played a part in Burnley’s promotion to the Premier League, and would like to continue putting something back into regional sports with this new initiative. At the same time, we would like to get across the message that when enjoyed as part of an active lifestyle, a pie or pud can be part of a balanced and healthy diet.”

Burnley manager, Owen Coyle said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local teams to get themselves new kit and advice from the experts. Away from the glitz and glamour of the Premier League, the vast majority of football games are played at grassroots level. It is important that this continues to be the case, not only so that our national teams can have the best possible players to choose from, but also so that people have the chance to stay fit and active, but also have fun in doing so.”
