Zamaretto side hold 'lucky dip' for shirt sponsorship

Zamaretto side Cirencester Town have become the latest team to hold a 'lucky dip' for their shirt sponsorship.  The club saw a response of 27 local businesses enter the draw, with CIA Fire and Security becoming their new shirt sponsors at the cost of just £100.

The company name will be emblazoned on the first team kit, both home and away, for the remainder of the 2009/10 season.

Cirencester Town chairman Steve Abbley explained: "In the current economic climate, it was difficult to ask one company to cough up anything from £3,000 to £5,000 for sponsorship, so we came up with this idea.

"We are by no means the first club to try a sponsors’ draw but it seems to work well and we are delighted to have a well respected local company like CIA on board."

CIA, who are in their 21st year of business, have recently become a limited company and understandably boss Colin Harrison is delighted with his coup.

"We have been lucky enough to get about £2,500 of sponsorship for £100 so we have got to be pleased," he said.

Second prize in the draw went to the Oddfellows pub in Cirencester, who will have their name on the team’s warm-up shirts, while the third prize, a full page advert in the programme for the remainder of the season, was won by JBP Clean.
